Government House has special weekend tours over Wellington City Heritage Week. The house was opened in 1910 as the home of the Governor-General and the building has Category 1 Heritage Status.
Free two-hour guided tours will run Saturday 28 October starting 10am and 1pm, and Sunday 29 October starting 10am and 1pm. Bookings are essential and will close off 24 hours before a tour. Places on tours are limited and can be booked from 4 September at https://gg.govt.nz/tours/upcoming. Tours will start in the Visitor Centre before looking through Government House and grounds. Government House is wheelchair accessible, however some parts of the garden are not access-friendly. We have on-site parking. Entry for tours is through the Hospital Road entrance gate.
